Piles Disease Treatment

piles disease treatmentPiles disease is a common disease nowadays. The number of people suffering from piles is huge.  The changing life style has infused so many diseases in our bodies. The dietary habits, the processed foods and unhealthy living styles are the main cause of piles.
Piles disease is neither a disease nor an infection. Therefore, it is not curable by any of the conventional methods. Though the conventional medicines/surgeries can relieve the patient of some of the piles symptoms it will not be cured if you won’t change your lifestyle daily habits. So, natural treatments are its best remedy.
Piles disease is mainly an outcome of the swelling of the rectal veins around the anal. A clump is formed inside or outside the rectum. There are three spongy pads in the anal regions. Even if one of the pads slips downwards leading to the filling up of the blood vessels in the cushion which is the cause it to swell and it results in piles. Piles can be internal or external or a patient can suffer from both types at the same time. Piles are also called hemorrhoids.
The causes of piles disease are straining during bowel movements, chronic constipation and pregnancy. Obesity may also result in piles because of the pressure imposed by our body on the rectal veins. As well as the sedentary jobs may also contribute to the occurrence of the disease. Heavy weight lifting also leads to piles. People who have loose motions frequently are also prone to piles because of the strain imposed on the lower part. Piles may also be a genital disease which is transferred from generation to generation. It is mainly found in adults. Thus, the treatment of piles must be initiated as the first piles symptom is seen. This will help in reduction of the discomfort that will be accompanied by the disease.
The immediate treatment of piles disease can be done by cleaning the infected area with warm water and wipes or pads after each bowel movement is passed. This reduces swelling and itching.
Medicated creams, ointments and suppositories can be applied on the infected area to relieve irritation. Stool softener can be used if the pain is not too severe. Sitting in a tub or bathtub full of warm water, helps to relieve the discomfort caused by piles disease.
Piles disease in which bleeding is there can be treated by rubber band ligation, injection sclerotherapy, infrared coagulation or surgical hemorroidectomy.
Rubber band ligation is a procedure to treat internal hemorrhoid with a special applicator. In this a small rubber band is placed at the base of the anal. The rubber band cuts off the blood supply to the internal hemorrhoid and thereby, the hemorrhoid fall off in four to five days.
Infrared coagulation is another method of treating hemorrhoid. It uses an infrared light source which treats the infected area. This method will cause the shrinkage of the dilated veins as blood does not flow through the area.
Injection sclerotherapy is a technique of injecting chemical into the infected area. This irritating chemical leads to inflammation and closure of the veins leading to shrinking of hemorrhoid.
In case of large hemorrhoids, a surgery can be taken up resulting in the removal of the hemorrhoid.
Piles disease usually occurs because of the wrong lifestyle adapted by the people. The diet plays an important role in the lifestyle of any person. The dietary habits are responsible for the immense increase in the diseases among people and piles are one of them. People who take more of processed foods which are low in fibers are more susceptible to constipation. And chronic constipation is one of the major causes of piles disease which are the result of the lifestyle and the wrong eating habits adopted. Thus, to cure it the dietary habits have to be inculcated in the lifestyle which has to be followed regularly in our life. The processed food must be replaced by fiber rich food. Fresh fruits and vegetables must be eaten regularly. Lots of water must be drunk so that stools soften up that will relieve the patient of the pain and discomfort accompanied by piles disease. Alcohol drinking is not recommended to people who suffer from piles. The alcohol cause languid bowel movements which will lead to more discomfort to a piles patient.
A fiber rich food, ample amount of water, fresh fruits and vegetables should be suitable diet that will prevent piles disease. A reoccurrence of piles is possible so a healthy life style must be adapted to rid yourself of the discomfort caused by piles disease.
